Whom do I contact/pay for this: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Direct comments/questions to gavin@refinery.com Although this tool is being provided free of charge, it took and continues to take substantial development time and bandwidth. If you are so inclined, I'd be more than happy to receive PayPal donations to the above email address. FAQ: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: HEY! Why is this connecting to the internet when I run it locally? What are you doing to my computer? A: HEY! :) Because the captions file is being updated frequently, I realized that I could let it first try and use your local one and then, if you have a 'net connection, use the latest from my website. Local but updated via a 20k JS download...what could be better?! If it is causing you problems, open up each realm HTML (e.g. "albion.html") and delete the line at the top which looks like this: It will continue to work just fine, but you will be stuck with whatever captions you have on your computer. Known Bugs: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This has been tested on IE6 and Mozilla 1.2.1 for Windows, and also on Chimera 0.60 (a flavor of Mozilla) for MacOS X. The known bugs are: Mozilla Doesn't support text shadows (not really a bug) Clicking seems to zoom in on a spot to the upper-left of the spot...don't know why yet. Just click below and to the right of the desired zoom location, or pan around once you're zoomed in. Pressing the space bar (to stop auto-panning) causes Mozilla to scroll down a page before stopping it and also messing up both Show Info and caption placement. Use ESC instead. Mozilla's (normally nifty) Type Ahead Find feature causes it to beep a lot as you press keys to control the labels. Sorry about that, Mozilla users. See http://www.mozilla.org/projects/ui/accessibility/typeaheadfind.html for information on how to disable it. IE6Win No known bugs. IE5.5Win Some users have reported that the application crashes upon loading, due to the text shadows. If this happens for you, please let me know and I'll give you a fix to disable the shadows.
