Instructions
Hopefully this page is unnecessary. Hopefully just by experimenting for a minute or two it'll all become clear. But if you are desperate to read pseudo-documentation, here you go.
Viewing a Play
Plays available for viewing are listed in the left sidebar. Click on the play name to bring up the play viewer.
On the play viewer, there are three controls:
Play ![[play img]](includes/play.gif)
Press the play button to start the players in motion. It will change to a stop symbol
, allowing you to stop the play at any time.
Rewind ![[rewind img]](includes/rewind.gif)
The rewind button returns the play to the starting point. (It will also stop the play if it's currently in motion.)
Slow ![[slow img]](includes/slow.gif)
Each click on the slow button will halve the playback speed. (It will also start the play if it's currently stopped.) To return to normal speed, stop the play and start it again.
The play will continue to loop repeatedly until stopped.
Creating a Play
Login to the Site
In order to create a new play, you must have a registered team. Either login to the site at the top left, or create a new team registration for free.
Create the Play Information
After you have logged into the site, click on 'add a play' in the top menu to describe the play. Once you have entered this information, click on 'diagram this play' to be taken to the play admin to diagram the play.
Diagram the Play
Players on the field are numbered 0 (typically the original handler) through 6, and are designated by a circle with the player's number in it on the field.
![[players on the field]](includes/players.gif)
players on field; 0 has disc
![[player 0 passing to player 1]](includes/discpass.gif)
0 is passing to 1
The player who currently is holding the disc is displayed in solid red. When the disc is being passed between two players, it is displayed as a red circle on the field.
The admin will start out with players in a standard stack, and the timeline just after time 0. If you want to change the start position of the players (to set up and endzone play, for example), move the timeline all the way to time 0; dragging the players on the field at time 0 will change where each starts.
To cause a player to make a cut, move the timeline to when you want the cut to occur, and drag the player to where s/he should move to. The timeline will indicate the cut (and move the marker to when the end occurs); dragging the players at any other time will start a new cut.

To continue the cut in a new direction (a 'juke'), drag the player again. The cut will be continued on the field (left, below) and on the timeline (right, below).

Making Passes
First, ensure that the disc possession line is turned on in the timeline. (It's the checkbox below and at the left edge. It's also turned on by default.)
![[the disc possession checkbox]](includes/showdisc.gif)
turn this on to edit passes
The thick red line on the timeline shows who has the disc at various times. By default, player 0 starts with the disc, but you can drag the half-circle at the left end of the line to change who starts with the disc.
![[player 5 passes to player 6]](includes/throw1.gif)
5 passes to 6 immediately
![[player 5 holds onto the disc and then passes]](includes/throw2.gif)
5 holds onto the disc before passing
On the left above we see player 5 starting with the disc at time 0, and then immediately passing to player 6. (5 is releasing the throw before 6 has begun to make the cut...that's some great communication!) To make a pass like the above, click on the red line to create a pass 'dot', and then drag the dot to the appropriate player/time.
Because players cannot catch and release instantaneously, you need to be able to make the player hold on to the disc before passing. To make the player hold the disc, just add another dot on the disc line. On the right (above), we see 5 waiting until 6 is halfway through the cut before throwing the disc.
Fixing Mistakes
If you put too many dots on the disc line and want to delete one, select the dot (by clicking it) and then press the 'delete' or 'backspace' key on the keyboard. (Alternatively, dragging one dot on top of another will delete one.)

One dot too many, so...
![[middle is selected]](includes/dots2.gif)
...the middle is selected...
![[middle is gone]](includes/dots3.gif)
...and deleted.
Similarly, if you make a cut that you don't like, you can select it by clicking on it in the timeline, and then pressing the delete key. Alternatively, you can drag the shadow endpoint of a cut to change where the player cuts to.
